Что такое iCloud

iCloud is a cloud storage service for iPhone owners that helps increase the phone's built-in memory.

It is a paid App Store service with different rates:

5 GB: free
59 rubles per month: 50 GB
149 rubles per month: 200 GB
599 rubles per month: 2TB

The need for iCloud among bloggers arises from the fact that all iPhones are sold with a certain amount of memory, which cannot be increased using an external drive (unlike, for example, Android phones). Whereas the quality of photos and videos created on the iPhone is very high. And they take up a lot of space.

So it solves the eternal problem of all content-makers - to free up space for new cards.

How does iCloud work?

If you have a good Internet connection, your files are uploaded to the cloud, and only light, small previews remain on your phone. To download them, you need some time and also a good Internet connection. The bigger the file, the more time you will need.

So you could have a situation like this on your phone: 58GB of the 64GB in the phone's storage and over 600GB in the iCloud storage have been used.
You can also access iCloud from your computer, which is very convenient if you need to download a file.

How do I set up iCloud on my iPhone?

The iCloud settings are located directly in the main settings of the phone.
When you click on your name, you can open the actual iCloud menu with rates, information about used gigabytes, as well as sections of your phone that use iCloud.
To connect or disconnect a partition, go into it and toggle the slider to on or off.

What's so great about cloud storage?

iCloud allows you to take a lot of pictures without having to think about whether you're running out of memory or not. It allows you to store and upload photos from many years ago, which is very handy when you are blogging.

And it also allows you not to buy an iPhone with huge memory (which is much more expensive) when you know you don't have enough of it for those tasks anyway.

Because blogging, content-matching, and online promotion in general is a huge amount of visuals and takes. That's how this world works.

How to use iCloud

Oddly enough, it is not at all obvious how to use this iCloud. It took me a couple of years to formulate it into an understandable algorithm.
  • iCloud analyzes which photos or videos you open more often and uploads them to the cloud last.
  • At the same time, it frees up as much space as you normally need to comfortably use your phone.
  • To activate sending photos to iCloud, you need to start reducing the space on your phone. That is, take pictures, record videos, and install large applications. The iPhone will understand that it needs to free up space and will do so.

Disadvantages of using

iCloud is, of course, a cool and ingenious thing. But like any phenomenon, it has its disadvantages.

For example, for me it constantly unloads to the cloud what I need and at the most inconvenient moment.

I am talking about books - it seems that the 4 books that I specifically download from there do not take up so much space that it becomes critical. But as soon as I hook up to the internet, it just keeps trying to send them to the cloud.

And okay, if you're just riding the subway and at the station you can download the desired book again.

But if you downloaded books for the road and noticed their absence only when you got on the plane? I really had this situation this year.

And, of course, the disadvantages are the difficulty of use and the high monthly price.

TO SUM UP
iCloud greatly simplifies a blogger's life, if he or she is willing to pay for this option.

To activate cloud storage, reduce free space when you start taking pictures or downloading something to your phone.

And don't forget to check your downloaded books before you board the plane.
