A cameo is a brief appearance of a famous person in a movie, television series, video game or other work of art. Cameos can be used for a variety of purposes - to create a surprise effect, to add realism to a scene, or to capture the audience's attention.

In storytelling, cameos are often used to create connections between different works of art or for additional character development. For example, in the movie "Avengers: The Final Destination" the appearance of the character of Stan Lee, the creator of many Marvel comics, became not only a memorial of his contribution to the movie universe, but also an emotional load for the audience, who knew about his death. Well, Stan Lee has appeared in almost every movie in the movie franchise.
Another example is in the TV series Brothers in Arms, during a battle scene on a street in Mosul, two soldiers from the TV series Staying Alive pass by, creating a single universe effect.

Another example is director Quentin Tarantino's cameos in many of his films such as Mad Dogs, Kill Bill and Django Unchained. Such an appearance creates the effect of some kind of internal connection between the films and can be interpreted by the audience in different ways.
Thus, cameos are not only a plot element, but also a way to create an emotional connection between the artwork and the audience. As a rule, such appearances complement the main story and arouse additional interest in the audience.
